Chronology of cameras Yakumo

Yakumo was a German import and distribution company specializing in electronic gadgets. Contrary to what its name suggests, it has no Japanese origins. Yakumo GmbH had its products manufactured in China at a low cost, and then distributed them through large sales networks. Retailers like Fnac and Amazon have sold Yakumo products.
As of the beginning of 2019, it's difficult to ascertain whether the company is still active. There are conflicting reports about its status, with some sources indicating its disappearance in 2007 (as mentioned below).
The Mega-Image brand was associated with Yakumo but now appears to exist as the property of a German photographic laboratory.

Not all camera models display the Yakumo name; it only appears on the more recent ones. These cameras are typically low-end and technologically outdated at the time of their release, which can lead to misinterpretation of their age based on technical specifications.

February 5, 2007 ( from DigitalKamera.de): The company Yakumo GmbH, located in Brunswick, which was previously a manufacturer of monitors, home entertainment products, network accessories, external hard drives, and compact digital cameras (under the "Yakumo Mega-Image" brand), totaling around 100 products or product groups, is withdrawing from the market. As explained by its managing director, Jurgen Rakow, the company is not going into liquidation (as partially reported).

This model, presumably one of the early digital cameras sold under this brand, is basic. It does not have an image preview screen.
